Helen Reddy was diagnosed with Addison's disease in 1976 by the same doctor who diagnosed the late US President John F. Kennedy with the illness.

Helen Reddy speaking on Addison's disease Awareness Week says, "I am thrilled to learn that there is finally an organisation for people with Addison's disease."

Helen Reddy is a great inspiration to all people with Addison's disease as despite having the illness she has managed to achieve remarkable things. Her hit singles include "I Don't Know How To Love Him", "I Am Woman", "Leave Me alone", (Ruby Red Dress,) "Angie Baby", Delta Dawn" and "You And Me Against The World".

She had a starring role in the Disney film, "Pete's Dragon" and appeared in "Airport 75" as the singing nun. In the theatre, Helen had starring roles in productions of "Anything Goes", "Call Me Madam," The Mystery of Edwin Drood", "Blood Brothers" and "Shirley Valentine."
