The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has released the MedSearch app to provide medical professionals and the general public with up-to-date, easy to access Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) and Product Information (PI) for registered prescription medicines.
Prior to the launch of the app, patients were expected to consult the leaflets found within the packaging of some medicines, speak with their healthcare professional or search the TGA website for medicine information.
By offering CMI and PI documents through a mobile application, users can access information on the safe and effective use of their medicine anywhere, any time and save the results for fast and simple future reference.
